Computer fans for rads on Dirtbike?

kwbmxr123

i did This Recently to my YZ426F. i used a 14.4V Drill battery and 2 computer fans. The key is to getting a clean install so you do not make your bike look like trash and you do not get stuck on wires. :cripple: the biggest question that i had when looking how to make these fans was how long they would last. Mine last 4-5 Hours. In all of the trails I've done i haven't ever run out of Juice for them. When i am going fast i can flip a switch and shut them down, but i have never had too.

I have 2 computer fans on my 2012 WR450 that have been on the bike since new & never had a failure even when I had them mounted on the front of the radiators. I have them running constantly as most of my riding is done in tight technical woods riding. I take no special precautions when it is time to wash the bike which happens after every ride & I ride 3 out of 4 weekends. The computer fans can take a beating.

Great idea! My yz450 tends to run hot when I'm keeping pace with my little kids. I usually just ride ahead and then back and ahead and then back again. I'm gonna give this a try for sure

      Hello everyone!
Looking for help with AMA rules and off road racing rules. 2018 was my first year racing.  I'm not familiar with rules of moving up.
I  competed in Sprint Enduro series in womens C class. I raced 7 of 8 rounds. 2 days of racing in each round. I didn't had much of competition,  I computed  against only 4 riders and they were almost twice my age. I won 4 of 7 rounds and with that I won championship. By rules of sprint enduro riders who win championship and 2nd and 3rd place finishers who won at least 2 events overall have to move up in next class.  If I choose to race in this series again I have to move up to A/B class there are no B class for women. And I would be racing against women who have been racing for years and much faster than me.
For women who got 2nd place and won 2 overalls organizer made an exception because of her age, kept her in women C for 2019.  And making me move up, And I feel that I'm not B rider yet.   For 2019 I want to try GNCC Or even local series.  In womens C in GNCC series I think I will place in a mind pack.
I was looking at AMA rules of advancement. My name is not listed in B class advancement list.  Because I raced in only 14 races and my RVP is 14 not 15.  By  AMA rules I should be advanced if I have 15 or higher.  I called AMA to check  They telling me that I earned advancement by the series so I should move up. But in the rules of AMA  It doesn't say  if you winning the series you should move up.
So if I race in GNCC should I move up to A/B or compete in C class?

Hi anyone. Been trawling the site for a few hours but can't seem to find the info I need. My mate's got a 2003 honda XR250 with a spare set of wheels, and I'm looking for a spare set for my 2003 yamaha WRF250. I can machine spacers to fit, but does anyone know the axle dimensions? My friend doesn't live nearby so can't do a quick 'wheels off check'. I'm hoping to find that the axle OD is the same and all I need is new spacers. I tried looking for bearing sizes for both but struggling tbh. Can anyone help with dimensions for either / both? Thanks in advance 👍👍👍

I cranked my bike up today and rode it a bit ('06 YZ250F). There was some white smoke when I first cranked it up and it went away shortly. I assumed it was because it was cold outside, as the smoke had no distinctive smell and, as stated, it went away shortly. I'm just adding that in case it has something to do with my issue. Anyways, a few hours after my ride I went into the garage and pulled off my pressure cap just to take a routine look at the coolant. The coolant wasn't even visible at first but after shaking the bike around a bit I could see some at the bottom (THANK GOD). I refilled the radiator and put the cap back on and then started the bike up. No smoke, no smells, and the bike runs mint as usual. The bike had been sitting for 3 weeks before this, if that has anything to do with it. WHY is my radiator running out of coolant? I could see no water on the engine (sign of a leak) and my hoses appear fine. The pressure cap looks a bit dry rotted and is difficult to get off and on. However, wouldn't I notice if it was faulty? ANY help/ideas appreciated. Please let me know why my bike is drinking coolant! I can answer any questions as needed.
