Redrawn Honda XR650L Wiring Diagram

Artrider

I bought a 1995 XR650L a couple weeks ago, and after seeing the wiring diagrams that were available online, I decided to create a more user-friendly version. If you see any errors, let me know.

FYI, I will update this graphic as I make edits.

Thanks

Note - Once I get this finalized (I've already made a few minor changes since I put this up), I'll post it as a high-resolution 11x17 pdf (assuming that's allowed on this system).

Looks great!

The isolated diode near the neutral switch might need reversing.

Safeties isolated in a simplified schematic-

Thanks for drawing that.  I don't know why the manufacturers can't generate a color version like that.  Much harder to make mistakes on wire colors than when trying to distinguish Bk from Bl from Br.

      I have a 1998 Honda CR250 for sale.
I just finished rebuilding the whole motor. It’s only been started two times for heat cycles.
I had the cylinder re-plated by millenium technologies.
The motor has the following new parts:
      -Hotrods crank
      -vertex std piston
      -crank bearings
      -transmission bearings
      -air filter
      It also has new
      -grips
      -new radiator shrouds
The rest of the bike is setup as follows:
      -aftermarket upper clamp
      -IMS pegs
      -pro taper bars
      -excel rims
      -SDG seat
      -FMF fatty pipe
      -FMF silencer (USFS approved)
      -boyesen dual stage reeds
-race tech rear spring 180 lbs rider
If you have questions just ask.
The bike is nice, but not show room by any means. Reason for not being perfect is that I already have a bike that I built that way and because of what I’m into it, no one is willing to pay for it.
      Thanks for looking.

I'm looking for information on how to route the carburetor hoses on a 2005 Honda XR650L. It's a California model, but it has the smog stuff removed and blocked off. It's uncorked and has an FMF slip on exhaust, along with Dave's Mod done. It would be nice to have a diagram, but pictures or even just an explanation would work. Just looking to see how best to set up the carb hoses. Thank you

My dad and I have two XR650Ls, one is a 2005, the other is a 2008. We've been trying to get the carburetor tuned, but we've been having some trouble finding the right way to route all the hoses. Both of them have had Dave's mod done, and they've been uncorked and have an FMF Powercore 4 slip on exhaust. They're jetted at 55 and 158 at about 6,500 feet above sea level.
Fairly often, when I'm cruising around 40 mph, the exhaust pops and the bike loses power for a split second. That's the main problem that I've noticed.
Also, on my bike, if I let off the throttle without pulling in the clutch, it pops a ton. I know some popping is normal, but it seems like it's a bit excessive.
If anyone has any tips on routing the carburetor hoses, or any other tips to get them running right, it'd be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I have started building my 1994 z50, over the weekend I messed up the forks. I have been hording part for the build and its time to start i have a set of +1 chromoly tubs with the delrin fork bushings . A new 1 1/2" extended swingarm with 280mm rear shocks. The only thing I dont have is a nice set of front springs I want something that will take small jumps and bumps for a 180lb rider but not be so stiff it hurts or way to soft . I am looking at two brothers xr50 springs and want to know what everyone recommends from experiance. Give me the + /- of different set ups.
      Thanks.
