Yamaha Raptor Petcock is perfect DRZ / part # 5LP-24500-01

I just went through a little fiasco with my petcock that I don't want anyone else to have to deal with! I was lead to the Yamaha Raptor petcock by searching on here, but it wasn't really presented as a definitive solution. Well,I think it's probably the most cost effective and perfect fitting petcock you can buy with GOOD quality.

My stock petcock started leaking 6 months ago and I bought a "brownfamilyracing" Ebay petcock that was recommended on here in several threads. Well that thing was a cheap Chinese piece of crap! I was underwhelmed with it from the start and wasn't surprised it only lasted months. The "custom" machining is BS, these look to be the cheapest made petcocks you can find anywhere and for $30 an absolute waste. I emailed the seller to let him know the part failed and he actually was going to stand behind the product but I decided I was DONE messing this little part and went to find a real solution.

It's either Pingle brand, Stock DR-Z400E, or this Yamaha Raptor one. The Yamaha is $30 all day long and is perfect! Here's a couple pics of it installed, and compared to the cheap ebay one.... and my petcock graveyard!

Yamaha on top... MUCH nicer in every way.

My top end went on m 98 cr 125, the needle bearing clip came out and broke apart and shrapnel got everywhere and blew it up. I cleaned out the top end and washed out the crank with the bike upside down. the bike starts up great and seems to run fine but im getting a weird di-di-di-di-di-di-di noise coming from the motor. i tried adjust the power valve and tightening everything but the noise is still there. Here is a link to a video where you can hear the sound. It gets louder as rpm's get higher and at really low rpm barely idling it goes away. I am pretty new to bikes and 2 strokes so any help would be appreciated.

hey guys, so lately i’ve been thinking and i think i’d like to try and get my hands on a dual sport that i could bring onto the streets. i’m looking for the early-mid 80’s era as i love the look of them. i don’t know much about these, and all i’ve really looked at were the honda xl’s & xr’s. Which do you think would be a decent bike i could get to restore? i have also been looking at the drz’s as well. but i’d like to know what’s the pro’s and con’s of the different dual sport type bikes and which you’d prefer? & also, all i have to rip now is a 250 2t on dirt.. and i know for examples the xr’s go up to 650 but haven’t been able to find anywhere, mostly 250’s and 300’s. Have any you guys ridden these? just seems like small displacement for the roads? you guys ever wish they had more power? thanks for any input!
