pics on changing oil screen

Just cleaned mine, and am glad I did. Had a good amount of crap on it. But hey its better to be on that than floating around in your motor.

Took some pictures.

First lay the bike on the right side.

Take off the ignition cover and the oil line going to it.

Youll see four silver screw (9.8 NM tourque) on the lower righthand side of the case (this picture the screws are already out

Remove the screws and youll see the screen

Remove it and clean it

Put all back together, and no you dont need a new gasket, its metal...

No, completely different, Im almost positve you have to split the cases on the 250f

I'd recommend getting a PDF download of your 250's service manual and then doing search in Acrobat for the term "screen". Should get you close.

where is the silicone coming from? I would have thought there would be shavings and such but not silicone.

i just found this post and went straight out to the garage. pulled mine out and it looked the same as everyone elses. thanks for helping keep my motor alive!!!!
