ID'ing yamaha sss

Can one tell an 06+ yz sss fork from an earlier one just by looking at them? I looked on ebay and parts fiche and they look pretty identical, how would you know if someone was pulling a fasty?

The caps and tubes will give it away. And sometimes the base bolts.

If you have a photo or an auction number I can tell you what you're looking at.

Pre -06 fork have alucolored cartridges as pic below.

and -06 and newer has brown/gold elox color as pic below

looks like there is also a lip on the base of the dampening adjuster around the circumference.
