Clutch basket bumpers

So I pulled the right cover off (again) so I can do the balancer seal. While I'm in there I wanted to check the clutch basket rubbers to see if they're toast, as was mentioned to me by Bikenband. If I grab the basket, I can move (rotate) it left and right a tiny bit in relation to the gear behind it. Is there supposed to be any slop at all, or does any movement indicate worn rubbers?

There is movement when new.
