'77 Honda CT125 cluch

I have an old Honda CT125 , the motor runs good but the clutch sticks out of gear . so if you pull the clutch too far it get stuck there , any remedies?

Clean all the clutch pivots. If the cable has kinks or cuts on the outer cover you should just replace it. If the cable looks good, you need to flush the clutch cable with lots of say WD-40 and work the inner cable up and down until the WD-40 comes out clear. If non if this helps, you need to go inside the motor to see what is wrong.

If the above technique doesn't help, then most likely the clutch basket and or the clutch hub are badly notched/worn. Minor wear can be smoothed with paintence with a file and or rotary tool.

thanks , and its not the cable because when it sticks you have to push the clutch arm back to reengage it . ill have to get the clutch cover off .

Sorry , once i took the exhaust off i found a big crack in the outer cover so its getting soaked in oil now .

If you need to clean up any notches on the outer and inner clutch hubs use a flat file so you can better control how much you remove and keep the original alignments.

I sprayed PB blaster on the bear spots on the cable then work the cable till it operated good . Then an hour later sprayed good chain lube on those spots . It works good now .
