Can you add HID to the stock 2007-11 headlight Bezel?

Yeah, I read your thread Aaron, and I understand why you stuck with the Airtime HID.

But was the single HID bulb system (H4) bad, cheap, or just not enough light (besides the aiming issue)?

I don't think I'll ever ride off-road at night; I just want a bit better lighting than stock, with a stock look.

Knowing what I know now, it was 1) the wrong color 2) not enought light for anything over 35ish

The aiming issue might have helped number 2 but by that time I had moved on to the dual 4in setup etc

I ran HID in the stock housing for a while, worked great. I used an HID mini ballast and bulb off ebay, $20 total. never skipped a beat

BULB: make sure you get 3500-4500K. Don't go any higher in the kelvin range. Don't get the HI/Lo versions as there is not enough room behind the headlight for them.

Yup, this is what I figured out too.

But I won't buy from the ebay stores unless it's a last resort. No one to call / zero support.

I'm going with Ricky Stator's set up.

I saw this and I thought it would be a good set up to adapt the Model 60 to the WR housing like they did to the Husky light. The Model 30 seems like it would be good enough if you dont plan on much night riding.

The Led in the stock opening looks a little strange but I like the 07 WR headlight the best and wouldnt want to change it

Been there tried that. They don't have a good enough heat sink for behind headlight. Mine would overheat on slow trails

Don't forget that you need a new regulator as well as stator mod otherwise you would just be discharging your battery. Was running hid for several years on 2008 wr450f with bajadesings regulator and floated ground stator no problem. I was using h7 bulb, and focused it by adding a proper size oil seal between bulb and headlight housing. After you get it focused right you would be amazed by how much it outperforms stock halogen, even with both filaments hi/low connected at the same time.
