1991 dr350s overheated and is now having problems

Recommended Posts

I just bought a 91' dr350s and rode it a bit around the neigborhood. It was running super hot and backfiring alot. I changed the oil because it smelled like gas and I changed the fuel petcock as well. I took it out for another ride and it got super hot again and was back firing alot as well then It lost power and now will not go above 3500-4000 rpm. Any Ideas as to whats going on?

Sounds like it might be running lean. A lean mixture will cause the engine to overheat and backfire. Check for air leaks on the intake side.

Let us know what you find out.
