dynojet kit with 2004 klx300r cal model

Recommended Posts

does installation of the dynojet kit require replacement of the needle valve jet and purchasing a needle collar on the california model? kawasaki parts list shows a different needle jet for this model. the dynojet kit description indicates a stock needle collar is to be used and the kawasaki parts list looks as though this collar is not used with the needle on this model either. does anyone know if these parts are needed for installation?

Yes, you need to replace the needle valve jet with the dynojet version. Yes, you need to get the non-CA collar, I don't know why they don't include it. The CA needle basically has the collar built onto it, it's non removable and the CA needle is non-adjustable.

thanks for the info. it will be nice to have all of the parts on hand once i tear into the carb. hopefully this kit helps get rid of the low-mid range throttle lag that the bike seems to have now.

You don't replace the needle "jet". You do replace the needle and the main jet. You will need the collar, Kawi p/n 92143-1667. And just in case there is no clip with the Dynojet kit, Kawi p/n 92037-1401.

Be sure to remove the top of the airbox and the end plate on the muffler when you install this kit.

You will have a VERY noticeable increase in low and mid range power.

Ride on
