Show me your...BETA !

Recommended Posts

This is from Sunday. Less than 200 started, 48 didn't even finish a lap. Pros were arriving and turning a round and leaving. Saw more bikes leaving than heading to the line. This was just 1.5 miles in and I got really dirty later. Lol

I know, not a Beta, but before I spend 10k for a new 4 stroke beta for dual sport service I wanted to see if I wanted to own a 4 stroke. The issue is there just aren't used Betas, and certainly none in the 3k range. So this is my (very) poor attempt at a 390 for a couple years...2009 KTM 250 xcf..50 hrs, nice shape, not a beta15224387037440.jpg.ee201cea2c237c34123ac3defdb5e867.jpg
Had her out in the woods, this little bike rips! Looking fwd to a beta 4t down the line, until then pbpbpbpbpbob

I had the SXF version 08 and 09. Very good years. In my opinion 07/08 is when KTM got serious. I had the suspension re worked by pinnacle in Washington.  They Seriously worked magic on those old CC forks.

When is the best time of the year to ride in Idaho. It's on my bucket list and since I'm getting old I have to make it out soon.

Depends on where you will be riding.  I live in Boise, which is in SW Idaho.  We typically ride the high desert to the south at 2700' to 5000' in spring and fall.  As the alpine snow line recedes in late spring (like now) we follow it into higher timbered country to the north.  By summertime the desert will be 100 degrees, the 6000' terrain in my photos above will be in the 80's, and we'll be riding near the timber line at 7000' and higher.  So basically we ride from late February through late November, but in different terrain at different latitude and elevation.

Here are a couple of shots from a local ride after work yesterday.  This terrain put the "hump" in hump day, LOL.

The bike is a 2016 Xtrainer with Marzocchi 48mm CC forks, Fox RC2 shock, Scott's steering stabilizer, Lectron carb, FMF Gnarly pipe, and LH PV spacer removed.  The Rekluse cover is for my manual clutch.  It's my little all-terrain all-elevation Idaho mountain goat.
