2013 crf 230f

Recommended Posts

I recently got a 2013 crf 230 and I know someone who has an older model that has an airbox mod with a plastic piece that has been removed and made a noticeable difference so I did the same thing to mine. Now it acts as if it is getting to much air and not enough fuel. should I just increase the amount of fuel its getting or what?

Your bike is most likely running lean. You probably need to do a "power up" mod. It is a low cost mod and makes a nice difference in performance. It's where you change the jets in the carb, unplug the air box like you did, and take the baffle out. These links will show/tell you everything you need to know about it.

What Grogg said!

DO NOT remove the intake restrictor unless you've rejetted the carb! It will create a dangerously lean condition. The restrictor acts like a partial choke, increasing the signal across the metering circuits. Removing it decreases the signal across the metering circuits. You must compensate by increasing the jet sizes.
