Wheel bearing retainer nut cr125

The retainer nut on my rear wheel was so old and damaged I had to break it to get it out. Does any one know if I can go with out the nut. The other side does not have one?

Don't ride it without the retainer. there is a good reason it is there.

How come there is not one on the other side?

Don't know, but every manufacturer has some sort of retainer on the same side of the wheel so there is a reason that side has one in order to hold the bearing in. If you ride without it, you will probably ruin your hub and maybe more. That is a very cheap part, not worth riding without it since you would ruin some very expensive parts if you do.
