Buying used DRZ... Opinions?

Looks OK to me. It hasn't been molested too bad, and the miles are reasonable for the price. That said, I have no idea what DRZs sell for in OZ. Current $ to $ exchange rate is even, and that bike would sell for about that price in the San Francisco area, assuming that it is street legal. If the motor and tranny are sound, then you have a few mods to do, but that's WAY better than if you needed to fix a bunch of poorly done mods from the previous owner. Certainly worth taking a look at.

When you check it out, feel the motor to verify that it is COLD, then start it in the usual (official way: choke out, no throttle, etc . . . .) way. That tells you a lot about current state of the carb jetting.

Of course I'm full of BS, my DRZ wouldn't even run when I bought it. ?

I prefer to buy a low K stock bike , and do my own motor work .

Like with any modded motor , you don't know the quality of the work or how much abuse the motor has had .

Just my opinion

Lower km's then 7000? hmmmmm.

I think if your really serious, Sunday is a long ways away. Remember, hesitation Kills.............

Yeah, I would go look earlier but I have two exams between now and Tuesday :/

You're in the "Land Of OZ".. :aussy: ...Get a "REAL E"....some countries incl the US are being starved of this model......40hp out'a the box.....

We have plenty of them out here,

And they are about half the price of the ''REAL S'' model, its a shame that you cannot make them street legal out here, at leat in cali.

Thanks for the feedback.

If I go down the path of a new bike, roughly how much will it cost me to set an 'E' up for 100% road usage?

You would probably want to up the gearing ...stock 14/47 is short for on road...

I run 15/44 , so there is a new front and rear sprocket and 15T case saver...You could run the stock knobbys til they wear out, but I replaced mine with some Pirelli MT90 A/T tyres, which are amazing for on road...That's abot it really along with some minor jetting improvements, you're good to go....

Hell all the TT fraternity falls into that "Mate" classification..lol..?.. ??
