Redline for stock Sm

Can anyone tell me what the redline is for a stock Sm?

Thanks.

9750rpms thereabouts.

It's a pointless exercise to run a stock engine past 8,000rpm ....

Yes, but I'll qualify my response with.. It's not making any more power after 8k RPM, but there are times to run it to rev limit, and even hold it there.

Finishing an uphill climb is one, completing an obstacle is another, finishing a corner is a third. Keeping momentum in those cases can mean the difference between making it up the hill over/through the obstacle and not.

Of course Eric is correct...I was speaking purely in terms of power production, there may occasions for holding a gear longer as he has indicated....
