Before & After... TLC

Here's the '07 before:

Now after the complete teardown, cleaning, greased everything, rejetting, opened the airbox, cut the baffle then added the lights and some graphics. All that's left is to get it plated next week and hopefully the wife will want to keep it. If not she's going up for sale.

your gonna hate me for saying this, but I like the stock graphics better -- :jawdrop: (but - you didn't have me in mind when you built the bike, I know-- plus i'm a stock kinda guy anyway ) ---

Bike looks clean enough to eat off of :thumbsup: that seat intrigues me for dual sport use ---- I will have to look into those -- I have been wearing padded bicycle shorts under my jeans for dual sport rides on mine, so something like that might relieve some of the agony :ride:

Don't know, haven't rode on it yet. Going to take it on the Sheetiron tomorrow. So i'll let you know next week.

I had to put the Graphics on because of all the scratches and broken rear fender or have to buy new plastics. Remember this is for the wife and she didn't like all the battle scars... They don't show up very well in the pics.

As you can see, it came out pretty nice. It was pretty much stock looking before I put the graphics on and the seat. The wheels in the pic's are my Dualsport, I put the stockers back on just before I sold it over a week ago.

I actually liked the seat, used it on the sheetiron 300 (350mile) dualsport ride here in Nor-Cal. But it went with the bike.

I almost kept the '07, until a guy made me an offer that I couldn't refuse... $5000 as it was... needless to say it is gone! I paid $2600 for it from a friend at work, put about $1000 and 4 hours into it. Including the light kit, seat, JD Jet kit, New tires, Shorai Battery... plus DMV fees.

In todays market you came away from that deal in very good shape.....

If you got close to the asking price ---- then I may have to import a bike or two to California! I have a cousin in San Diego (if the titles can be transferred that is -- I hears that is a "maybe yes, maybe no " proposition ) --- I'm kidding, but now that I own 2 X's i'm glad they are a hot commodity somewhere ---- a lot of my KS and OK riding buddies think I am silly to hang my hat on the X

It's hit or miss here in Kali for sure. It really boils down to the correct paperwork, knowing what to say and how to present it while at the DMV. 99% is the paperwork. And yes, you can import a 450x (plated) into Ca. Just make sure it's the Ca. model... with the smog crap or else your screwed (plate ain't gonna happen)... Plus some other facts... If you are serious send me a PM.

And Yes, $5000 was my asking price... Although, I had another guy offer me $5500 after the first buyer was on his way... So I too had two 450x's and now I have none. :devil: So I will be getting another later this year, gonna wait to see what Mr. Honda comes out with for 2014... I also have connections to buy a brand new leftover 2012 for $5699 OTD... Just waiting to see :cool:

Sounds like when I sold my YZ 250 a couple of months ago, -it was like the prospective buyers almost had a competition going to see who would be the first to get to my door with the cash --- I was contemplating waiting to see what shakes out in 2014 too, but decided that I have a lot of riding to do between now and then and now have other bikes but the x's --- the plated one I will likely never sell (unless someone offered me 5k :thumbsup: - but in Oklahoma that'll never happen -- its relatively easy to get 'em plated here) . That sounds like a sweet deal on a 2012 though !
