bultaco alpina, switches on bars? How to start?

Just acquired the 350, but not sure of the switches on the bars for starting the bike.

2 switchs.

right hand strikes me as a kill button.

THe left hand switch seems to have 3 positions?

Can anyone help?

3 Position sounds like a head light, a single sounds like a kill switch. Unplug all the wires, If the kill switch is bad unhooking it will make the bike start.

So with mixed gas and oil, choke, and a commited kick, it should fire, without turning a key?

THe right hand position of the kill switch makes sense from a letting-go-of-the-throttle logistic.

So does anyone know what the button and 3 position lever switch on the right handle bar is for,

and the 3 position switch on the left handle bar?

you need to pull the spark plug and check for spark. the carb should be inspected and while your in there cleaned. otherwise you will be just kicking in the dark. the gas tank should be sealed with epoxy because the old polyester resin can be attacked by the ethanol in todays gas. the left hand headlight switch is off, on low beam, on high beam. if you plan on keeping the bike it is worth the expense to have a mz cdi ignition with 12v for lighting installed. my 02.
