Polle asked me to take a look at the differences between the stacks compared to a couple of other stacks he emailed to me:

Taking stack 1 as the baseline the clicker range looks like this:

Adding the other stacks to the curve you can get an idea how they compare to the clicker range of stack 1.

3-stacks-damp.png

  • The Polle TT1 stack and GD170's stack more-or-less mirror the damping curve of stack 1 with the damping force clicked up or down a notch.
  • Polle stack 2 is a little different. The crossover mod stretches out the mid-speed transition a tad and the stack goes slightly progressive in the high speed range.

If you are looking for a broader tuning range there are other options. Here are some basic configurations: A straight stack, a ring shim preloaded stack and a crossover stack. All of the stacks have the same high speed damping.

Those three kind of give you a feel for the tuning range. At 5 in/sec there is about a factor of four difference in low speed damping force. You could make that even larger if you preloaded the stack more.

Used smaller separator shim 24.1, and added 26.3 as clamp. Spring rate 4.9. He's 130lb.
