Jetting question

Recommended Posts

Heres my question, right now i have my bike (yz250) jetted for sea level and hot conditions in southern louisiana. In october ill be making a trip to illinois and plan on doing some riding while there. Right now im running 50-50 no ethanol 93 and 104 octane 32:1. Was wondering if i went to straight 104 or 108 even could i get away without having to rejet for a weekend of riding?

Being that the highest point in Illinois is 1200 ft, I wouldn't worry too much. Now, if you are jetted for 100F, and you show up when it's 50F, then I'd swap some brass. Really, how long does it take to change the pilot, main, and needle clip position? What jetting are you running now?

Changing to straight race gas wouldn't be a way around jetting. Depending on the fuel properties it could make the bike run richer or leaner. I'd stick to running what you run now, keep from throwing another variable into things.
