no spark

i just finished rebuilding my 06 yz250f and when i went to start it nothing happened after cleaning out the carb it still wouldnt fire up. so after pulling the brand new plug i just put in i tried putting the spark plug cap on and kicking it a there was no spark. Should there be a spark and if so what could cause this. Thanks in advance

Yes, there should be a spark.

All ground wires connected?

Was the stator out of the engine?

Did you go through the owner manuals testing procedure?

Im gonna do the testing procedure in the manual tommorow morning but im not home.And yes the stator was out of motor.
