95 Dr650 chain rollers

Recommended Posts

So I am replacing the sprockets and putting on a d.I.d x ring chain and noticed my upper roller is completely shot I have read about people just removing them but I am a big guy at close to 300 and didn't know if my chain would hit the rail or not. If u can please share some knowledge. Thanks

take it off I'm shocked it did not break off, at full travel the chain hits the upper roller at the wrong angle and most of the time pulls part of the frame apart ,just remove the assembly and put a setscrew in the bolt hole, better go get a lottery ticket, your lucky if yours is just roller worn out.

The 1996 and up models had the bad design, I don't think the pre 96 models had that problem.

Suzuki has had 16 years to correct their "bad design". So I reiterate, why do they (continue) to use the upper roller?
