Identifying air leak

Recommended Posts

How can I identify where an air leak would be coming from on my 250f? It's running a tad bit lean. It's jetted for about 90 degrees and its been consistently 85-90 here in Richmond so I don't think it would be the jetting. It's really frustrating and I don't want the bike to grenade for it being an 06 with less than 50hrs of trail riding.

I doubt it is an air leak, most likely your carb jets are clogged

Really?! I cleaned the carb in December and have only ridden it about 20 times since. I drain the float bowl after every ride after I turn the Petcock off and let it run out of gas. Could the jets clog that fast?!

When you drain the float bowl, all you got is air in the bowl and that will dry up the residual gas in the jets unless you spray them with carb clean. Way too much work.
