I've been running the stock 13/40 sprocket combo. Question is will a 14 tooth sprocket fit on the front and will the 250 handle it? It seems to have plenty of power cruising and accelerating at 50 to 65 mph but is reving pretty high. Would like to bring the r's down a bit. Any body been there and done that? Chet

I think its equivalent to dropping 4 teeth on the rear, so it should be doable, without having to cut the chain, and its a lot cheaper!

Thank You, guys. I have a 12 tooth for the trails. Start out in second some times on the road with a 13. Was wanting to know for sure if a 14 will have enough clearance on the front. Is the case the same as an xl350r which uses a 14?

1t front = 3t rear so workable.

Sometimes you might have to lose the case guard or even do a light bit of dremel work for clearance.
