Hi all, i installed a SSW/RHC +1 head on my "50HP package". And swapped HC1 to old style HC2 (small difference) Stayed at fcr39. Specs see sig. first off the ride report. Surprised by the gain. No dyno yet, but it feels kinda like when i went from 400 to bigbore. That was 5hp gain (dyno'd). Low to hi rpm gains, but the hi gains are big. Pulls my arms hard. I expected way less, because even eddie himself says: the ssw/rhc head is only needed for bigbore/strokers and even then it's only the last piece of the puzzle, worth aprox 2 HP. Well on my bigbore only (dyno'd 48HP before the head) it works miracles! Does eddie even know his heads work this well on 440's? On to the Q: What jetting change would be expected? After the new head the jetting seems off. -Idle hangs high after closing throttle. -Popping at 1/4 steady seem signs of lean-ness. But with the airbox-door off it runs better. Airbox off leans it more right? Pipe smells nothing like gas after riding like rich sometime does. I'm guessing the counter intuitive "same cc, better breathing = smaller jets". Maybe it needs more then 3x3? Anyone?
