Spark plug

Recommended Posts

Please could somebody help - We don't have a torque wrench and we need to fit a new plug on a crf250x. Usually finger tighten then so many turns, (this to compress the new washer/seal) then loosen and tighten with so many turns (1/8 - 1/4 turn?)

If the new washer/seal is already compressed, it's finger tight, then 1/8 of a turn.

If it's not compressed, finger tight:

For NGK: 1/2 turn

For Denso: 1 turn

Then loosen, finger tight, and 1/8 of a turn.

BTW, personally, even though the manual says a full turn on the Denso, I don't think I've ever gone more then 1/2 - 3/4 turn on a new plug.

Always though finger tight and 1/8 on a compressed washer/seal.
