Heres the deal fella's lol i bought the bike off of a kid a little while back (May of this year) It had a brand new top and bottom end in it with a "brand new" clutch. Well i have ridden all year long and really im not a clutch hound or anything so i guess the seller just flat out lied to me.

Lol, it didnt get off the start for jack!

just buy barnet with steel studs.

what did you do to make that? did you fan the clutch much?

I don't feather it that much i think the seller lied to me or just didnt know.

Yup sounds you got lied to or the po wasn't very bright. like what was said above im surprised that the clutch even worked at all. i pulled the clutch off a 99 yz 125 right after i bought it and it looked half that bad and the clutch wouldn't work whatsoever. but the hub on mine was wasted too.

what does the rest of it look like? are the iner hub and all the plates any good or are they completely wasted too? they might have just swapped plates and called that a "new" clutch. like the PO of my bike who put in a new jug on the old piston and tried calling that a "fresh top end:naughty:

Surprisingly the steels and fibers didnt look that bad, the pressure plate doesnt have any seriuos grooves in it either the inner hub has some grooves so i am replacing EVERYTHING with hinson.

i am replacing EVERYTHING with hinson.

Hinson makes great stuff --- Rekluse makes even better stuff (OK - opinions vary) --- saves a couple of bucks and has superior QC and customer service to back 'em up ---

tough to go wrong either way, but a new manual clutch kit from the big R is good to go. I dumped a new Hinson slipper setup fast after comparing it to a Rek Core clutch setup

Was riding my 450, testing out a new speedometer, shifted into 2nd, moved a couple feet and heard a loud crack noise from engine area. Will not turn over, sounds like its jammed or seized from moving. My guess is tat the timing chain just exploded and fouled everything up. Haven't found time to open it up. Thought I'd go to forums to get some opinions on what to look at first. As far as back round info: Engine was opened up to replace some gaskets. replaced my valves and adjusted rockers to .05mm. Timing chain taken apart a couple times. Shifts through gears fine even though it doesn't run. I am not very fond of ktms or dirt bikes in general but fairly mechanically inclined. I don't know what to do so here I am on the forums. Any help or advice is much appreciated. Thank you.

hey guys ive had my drz for about a year and recently the little hole on the left side of the engine has started leaking what looks like oil, ive read it could be a head gasket or something failing but I have no other leaks and the bike still runs fine.
can someone please tell me what this hole is for and why its started leaking recently.  thank you

So having a little issue with my 05 RMZ 450. Just recently did a top end fresh in up on my 450 and now it seems very sluggish and boggs in the low end.It does not have the snap it had before the build. The top end feels great lots of snap and power. So not sure if I have to get the carb tuned or it's something I'm overlooking on my first rebuild. Only got maybe 1 or 2hrs on the build. Any help would be appreciated thanks
