Well I rode the Rincon trail about a week ago and ended up scratching my lower fork tube pretty badly. Didnt notice it until I went to ride in Big Bear over the weekend. Once I was unloading the bike I noticed the brake caliper covered in oil!! Upon closer inspection I realized there was a good scratch on the chrome lower left fork leg and it was spewing oil everywhere! Now I am trying to figure out my next mode of action, I checked the cost of a lower fork leg, WOW! Over $300.... I can buy a pair of used forks for that much, yikes! Another route I suppose is to get them recoated and then that would be an upgrade at least. Anybody else been in this situation? I have another bike I can ride when this one is down, but I was planning on racing on the 19th of Sept with it so I hope I can get it fixed before that or I will just have to race the CRF in open class, but would rather ride the 250 for this particular competition.
