fork seal rebuild.

Im helping a buddy rebuild his fork seals tonight.

Are there any spexial tools that we might need? Im at work, his tool supply is limited.

Ima run home after work grab my stuff.

On the list is my (not including basic sockets and wrenches.)

clymer

3/8 torque wrench

19mm hex key for front axle

Am i overlooking anything?

Thanks.

Oh yeah. Fork oil duh...

How much? And is a specific weight/type better?

Seal driver

Seal bullet (nice to have but a plastic bag can work)

Seal grease (very, good to use, helps protect the seal on install)

Impact gun or cartridge wrench is best.. wrench can be made.

Conventional or USD forks?

Conventional:

12 mm wrench/socket for fork axle pinch bolts & triple clamps bolts

24 mm wrench/socket for axle nut

phillips + flat screwdriver

jewelers screwdriver + pick to remove fork seal clip

17 mm wrench & socket for fork cap

21 mm socket + impact for fork base valve (to remove cartridge and separate fork tubes)

cartridge holder (I needed it because the forks where never apart and the base valve was loctited in, I made it from some 3/4" black pipe and a hex fitting on the end)

plastic bag/saran wrap for fork seal or bullet

homemade PVC driver or tool

ruler, oil syringe to set oil height (120 mm from top)

fork oil (2 L to do both forks, ~ 750 mL each)

What size is the hex nut you used? 21mm?

Thanks
