Engine dying

Have an issue. Trying not to be or sound like and idiot but I am perplexed over this.

Went riding on some steep trails today on my 2013 RMZ250 and it poured rain. Of course it began, and didn't let up, when I was on some steep hills that were middy as hell and slopes. So...When applying my back break (EVEN barely) the back wheel would lock up and the motor would die. I would pop the clutch to get the motor going and it would happen again, and again, and again. a few time it sent me into a slide and it was to late for the clutch popping and I was punished! Again the pressure on the back brake was not that much so I thought. My positioning was me Of course standing, with my ass on weighting the back end. No idea (most likely operator error I'm thinking) but some insight would be good. All in all it was a great day! God I love dirt biking
