HC new stage 2 (was st1) will do fine for your riding and mods.

E cams are almost the same as HC2 (have fixed cam gears, so no extra degreeing possible, 99.5% does never re-degree though)

HC very old style stage 2 is wilder (more lift and dur) but not recomended with stock valves and springs.

Some ppl use them no problems, but in my opinion its too much.

Also you do not need cams that wild without Bigbore.

The do not come with auto-decomp. (not a big deal when battery is fine)

HC new style stage 1 i don't know.

Webcams: they have many types.

Also real good quality product so good contender for buying used.

You can visually inspect the used cams for damage (or send a pic here).

Most of the webcams are really wild, absoluteley needing better springs like the HC very old stage 2.

But there are milder webcams out there.

You will not be able to see the difference in dur/lift with the eye.

Does the friend have specs or a model nr?

Every once in a while used old style HC1's show up on the TT classifieds, local forum or ebay BTW.

So there are 3 generations of HC's..

current

old

very old

what do the differences in lift and duration do? I think that might be where my difference is. I probably have a set of new and a set of old. The new cams bike runs smoother...

Yeah .. Weigh up the cost of new HC cams compared to any used E cams . The problem of buying used E cams is the cond of the auto decomp . Some have been known to cause BIG problems . Just a possibility of failure really . Unless you know the E cams are low mile , or you can remove the auto decomp altogether .
