Handlebar Mount for iPhone 4

Recommended Posts

Awesome, thanks for the feedback guys. After more research today I have it narrowed down between lifeproof w/ motorcycle mount, biologic w/ heavy duty mount, and a RAM set up. Leaning towards getting a shock and waterproof case that I can mount in the RAM system. I just really hate the bulky arms RAM uses so I need to take some measurements and see how things will fit.

I use this and my 4s in an otter box defender case doesn't move regardless of terrain.  The big advantage for me was being able to easily move the phone holder from the 250 to my mountain bike or the quad.  All I did was attach a ball mount to each toy and I was covered for all 3.  My phone case isn't waterproof so if there is a chance of it getting wet I just put the phone in a ziploc bag and slap it in the holder.  The touch screen works fine through the baggie too!

Ok, so I see the Ram mount, and followed the link to Amazon, looks solid. My question is what is that in the picture below the mount. Or, what are you using to actually mount to the bar on the bike ( I assume it is the stock bar you are mounted to, and it's the smaller top portion of the bar that is like 1/2" steel??)

i just ordered the one with the zippered case from Amazon for 15 bucks  my phone is waterproof and rugged  but I am sure all the mounts I found  could chuck my phone to the road

this one looked the most secure ?http://www.arkon.com/bike%20mounts/smartphone-large-bike-mount.html

This 1 inch handlebar ball mount:

And this double socket gizmo:

I have the 1 inch handlebar mount attached to the handlebar in between the clamps.

So the litttle ball goes aroud that handlebar with the u bolt and nuts, and that other little piece "clips" on to the ball is that correct?

That's it!  Here's another amazon link of a complete set-up using the ball and socket but with a go-pro camera instead of the phone mount.

Will that mount handle a reasonably diverse size of gadgets, like from a smartphone to a garmin nuvi, ?
