spring rate in bike?

Recommended Posts

the 94 kx125 i picked up recently with jm suspension is obviously harder than a stock suspension 2000 model bike i sat on the other day. This is a good thing as i am pushing 275lbs. i was looking at a calculator http://racetech.com/ProductSearch/1/Kawasaki/KX125/1994 and on what it says i should have on the bike. how do i tell whats on there now?

Bring the springs to a suspension shop or build a spring rate calculator.  Basically put a broomstick in a vice, put the spring over that, then measure and add weight and measure, etc.  Search the suspension forum.  I think KDX Garage built one once.
