Rm125 electrical

A friend of mine has a 2000 rm125. It's not getting a spark. He said the stator is brand new on it so would there be a greater chance of it being the cdi box or magneto? I know it's just a shot in the dark but I didn't know if this year and model just had something wrong with a certain electrical part.

check your killswitch for continuity

check engine grounds check all connections check your pickup coil (yes brand new parts can be bad) annd ohm your ignition coil then go to the cdi and check it out. dont go replacing parts that you dont need too before testing them.
