Suzuki ltz 400 performance help

I just started a build on a 05 ltz400 im looking for some more from it I'm running stock piston with fresh rings, stage 2 hot cams, dual valve springs, and an over rev box and I'm making sure I shouldn't and anything while its apart.

Watch bumpin up the compression cause you will have to use higher octane fuel or you will foul spark plugs

those are two separate things that have nothing to do with each other. what will happen is a pre-ignition or the fuel will ignite as its being compressed and will either ignite before tdc or at tdc with the flame front starting on the piston. when the latter happens the flame front from the plug you will get a "knock"
