Anyone using and 08 in and 07? Is the only difference the CDI box and harness?...Thks
the 08 has a shift position sensor that enters the motor just in front of the shift shaft. it has wires that run across the back of the motor and plug in behind the right side rad along with a couple other plugs (that are likely there on your 07) this sensor tells the ecu to retard timing in the lower gears. Kills some power, but dang it makes it nice to ride. I have ran it bypassed as Camp explained can be done .. put it in 4th gear, carefully pull the sensor out of the engine and remove the roll pin that gets actuated by the shift drum (or whatever inside that turns it). I didn't like it as much, felt like my 04, wicked low end power.
