LA/Barstow/Vegas anyone?

California

Any one doing the D37 LA-Barstow-Vegas ride this year?  I've always wanted to do it and was thinking maybe this is the year.  I saw in the D37 message boards that registration started back in July!!!  Anyone here doing it?

I wish.

I do it every year! It's a blast.

I always want to but then I get the "look" since it's during Turkey-Day weekend.

Tell your wife your going, but NEVER make eye contact, what an amateur! Do I gotta learn you everything?

Thats where you made your first Oops. I have a cat, an outside one at that. I tried borrowing a kid once to try it out, I had to give him back, he didnt like having a sock in his mouth all the time, is that bad?  I just dont like noise.  :banghead:

No, you just don't like the competion for airtime :p

I'm trying to coordinate all this and want to see if we could get a small group together.

Speed would be an important factor.  I'm a slow intermediate rider that wouldn't mind hitting the hard ways.  I have a friend that might join me.

Ok poo-sey, you willing to man up?

I thought about it but decided to do the Bishop ride this year instead. I'm thinking about putting together "mini " version of it this winter. Maybe go from OC to Boulder City NV with a stop over at AVI Casino…..

I have heard it's a well organized ride. Nothing like the B-V race they had though.

It's my first time and I'm really looking forward to it.  Any tips for a first timer?

Anyone else?  Anyone on the fence?

I am going to try and see.  The first attempt this morning didn't go well.  Mornings prolly aren't the best time to ask about going away by myself during a holday period :foul:   Then gotta work on Speedy, no eye contact though, he reacts just like most women.

Flowers and a great dinner usually works for my wife.

So Speedy, u coming?

I wouldnt be opposed to it!  End of November during the Thanksgiving weekend?

Maybe I can borrow a plated bike for that ride, Barstow to Vegas is on my bucket list.

Yes, Friday and Saturday.
