Got a new TTR50 as pit bike. It has a few problems.

The back wheel has about half the spokes broken so it has quite a wobble. There is only 1 rear wheel on ebay and it is $249 (Which is more than I paid for the bike). Is re-spoking it hard? Also the throttle sticks and it idles high, I assume they're related.

 

The moron I bought it from didn't even know the governor was limiting it at 1/2 throttle.

Re-lacing a wheel is a job that needs precision, so it can be hard, especially if you don't have the right tools.

Throttle sticking and high idle are not related, unless it sticks above the idle stop screw. High idle indicates a lean condition in the mixture, give the carb a good clean and you should be right.

The sticky throttle probably indicates old cables, disconnect them from the carb and turn the throttle by hand and see if it sticks, if not, clean the carb.
