Brake shoe recommendations?

Id like to change out the rear shoes for something that bites a little better.  I understand that a drum is much less effective than a disk but I'd like to know if anyone has found a set they liked.   I keep the brake clean, deglazed and the linkage lubed.  Typically I don't care for EBC's from my street bike experience but I think I may be limited to OEM and EBC.

I like OEM but I hack saw angled cross cuts in the linings to to help dry out the shoes when they get wet.  I arrange the cuts in Xs along the length of each shoe, about four on each.  These help scrap water off the drum so you can get braking back quicker after they become wet.

Those shoes are also used on a lot of Honda XRs.
