Cylinder liner has smaller ports than cylinder.

Recommended Posts

Pulled my boys 1996 RM 125 apart because it had low compression.  The transfer ports have all been ported and the liner has a little bit but there is quite a miss match.  I don't think this is normal.  Any suggestions?  It had a Wiseco pro lite 54.5mm piston in it and my P to B clearance is anywhere from .005 to .008".  I really ought to send it out for a replating, but was hoping he could ride it soon.

Thanks Jesse

With that much piston to wall clearance I would be worried about the skirt of the piston eating the bore. I'm sure it will defiantly have a much shorter service life.
