Drz cam install problems

Recommended Posts

I just bought a set of stage 2 hot cams and I think I don't got them timed right

I'm reading the hot cams install says there's supposed to be 15 links between the two points(dots)

And it looks like the hot cams are changed again they aren't adjustable and the print says 2013 so I don't think there old stock

And I was wondering how to adjust the cam lashing I got the shim kit

I wrote down all the lashing

Hot cams Says .15mm intake and .20mm exhaust.

Photos will be added

The ones that say 278 312 315 is what came out of the tappets where it says in I think is what should go in

I recently install stage 1 hot cams and I was concerned about the pins between the alignment marks.  I found a post from Eddie saying you don't count pins with hot cams.  Just do a search and you should find it. You need to ensure the alignment makes are correct at TDC.  ie align the 2 alignment marks so a line between them is parallel to the casing and the other alignment mark is straight up.  Both ex and in should be like this at TDC.

No pin count.

Crank at TDC

Cam lobes pointed at 10 & 2

Cam gear timing marks aligned with head . (In the pics you posted yours are off)

Judging by those pics your Intake cam is off, Line up the dots with the head as the others have mentioned.

As for valve clearance, follow the guide that was made on this site.

Got it done

The 15 teeth apart thing was what was confusing me.

Rode it tonight got the cams broke in per the hot cams info

Will check the valve lashing tomarrow and change the oil
