My rear wheel wobbles

Recommended Posts

And it's getting worse fast. I figured it was the wheel bearings, but not until I'd cleaned and greased shock linkage and check swing arm pivots. As it turns out, all my spokes are loose. Seems easy enough to fix, but I really didn't expect that. Anyone else have all the spokes come loose?

Not all the spokes at one time, but I have spokes lossen up all the time.

I generally check them every couple of rides.

Spoke checking is routine maintenance.

You are supposed to check the spokes every 5 hours when you first get the bike, tightening them up as they seat in.

You should also check your sprocket bolts.

Sounds like I better be checking the front wheel too.

I've never had a bicycle wheel to this, so I didn't expect a moto wheel to loosen up.

Bicycle wheels don't have to deal with the punishment of heavy tires, rough terrain, hard landings and braking forces of a 270 lb machine with a 45-50 horsepower engine. Nothing about bicycles can be compared other than the fact they both have two wheels.
