Weird issue w/ trip computer after leaving lights on

I accidentally left the lights on for over an hour after parking the bike which killed the battery. I tried st start and it just clicked so I put it on the charger and now starts and runs fine but both the trip and the main odometer went to zero and after riding around they are not accumulating mileage. The speedometer works and it even kept the correct time. I should probably also mention I just installed a HID headlight but it's been functioning like it should and I doubt it's related.

Any ideas?

Stock computer is junk. My 2012 crapped out at 1365 miles. Replace it with a Trail Tech Vapor and get the current mileage programmed in.

I almost bought the vapor last night but decided to wait and see if a night on the battery tender might magically fix it and sure enough, after having it started for a few minutes this morning it suddenly popped up the mileage again. I might end up buying the trail tech on down the road though because a tach would definitely be a nice feature.

Mine was doing as you describe. Then it totally lost all but the back light on the display.
