Thought this could be a good place to post builds in progress.

 

I am in the process of building a 18" / 21" BBR 230/250.

 

CR85 Front has a new bracket for a twin piston crf450 brake.

 

Wheels are Talon billet CR85 hubs with stainless steel spokes and bulldog spline nipples laced by Dubya.

 

 

Swing arm extension to be cnc machined.

Rims and spokes came from Dubya they also sell Talon hubs.

I bought the hubs with small wheel rims used for 200. then used bolt cutters to cut off the spokes and sent it to Dubya for rims and spokes. They were nice enough to match up stainless spokes for a 21" & 18". They should be able to replicate it since they are a Talon & Excell distributor. Talon hubs are 36 hole by the way instead of Honda cr85 that are 32 hole. So if you use your stock 32 hole hubs you should use Buckanan's wheel & spoke as they have 32 hole rims & custom spokes.

You might also want a Applied racing bracket to mount the CRF450 dual caliper brake. It is for a crf150r but it seems to fit a CR85 also. I had to use different spacers and grind a little on the back of the brake caliper.

The swing arm extension should be available, I will pm you.

Keen eye. The pipe heat guard is from a 07-11 WR450 I used pipe clamps and brackets from a crf250r to clamp it to the header pipe. You might also weld the nuts on the header instead. Got tired of burning every pair of pants I had.

Well all through and finished. Went with a 520 narrow x-ring chain and good quality PBI sprockets. Decided to install a TM design wr450 chain guide to the rear. 

 

Not the first one either Woodsryder did a BBR framed built xr200 motor with 18" and 21" wheels weighing in at 183 lbs...  It can be found here https://www.thumpertalk.com/topic/943320-183-lb-xr200/

 

Now all I have left to do is ride her !

I am using the 89 Web cam with a bored out Keihin PWK carb. Carb showed a large improvement over the 250 carb BBR uses. However you need to make a manifold to the head and I used a honda four cyl. rubber adapter to the carb. Carb is a tight fit. Head was ported by the people that did the Graves factory Yamaha supermoto bike heads.

Try and get her out for a test spin today.

 Didn't we try this last time and break the scale.

Well what do you think, should I publish the listed weight, claimed dry weight, or real real weight. Don't imagine it's too light in it's ride-able form with kickstand, extra tank, skid plate, hand guards, and extra heavy duty tubes.

I could say it feels like a feather weight in comparison to my big bikes. Handling is amazing with the extra large wheels. It came with racetech valving very plush it floats over the terrain. Not harsh as the big bikes. Extra large wheels highly recommended IMO.

 

 

So how do you wanna do this. Weigh front, weigh the rear then add them up and divide by two!
