SM to S conversation question.

Recommended Posts

Thanks to JB12ham, I now own a set of dirt rims for my SM. I don't have to time to order the right bracket for the front rotor so I put my SM rotor on the front wheel. However the rear caliper is only contacting half the rotor. Are the SM and S rotors different sizes? Or did I do something wrong?

No bracket for the front S/E rotor that I've ever known of all these years.you have to use the 310mm rotor.Same with the larger rear rotor, although the hubs are the same.Don't forget that your bike will lean waay over due to the SM's much shorter sidestand unless you install one from an S or E model or carry a small 2x4 block of wood with you all the time.ymmv.

I noticed the lean angle, it's not a problem as long as the ground is firm. Guess I'm pulling the rear again tonight to swap rotors. And sorry Kurt, no way I'd give up the 17's.
