Washington End of Mountain Season is Looming -Don't put off that ride!

Recommended Posts

Hopefully the good weather will hold for a couple more weeks but the Cascades have had a good dumping of snow already.

We camped at Lost Meadow in the Little Naches this last weekend. It was perfect weather. We could not get up the top of Ravens Roost by trail -too much snow. Road was passable to the microwave tower. We tried to loop Manastash to Blowout and the Lago trail but too much snow west of 943A on Manastash Ridge trail to make it. Snow was heavy and wet -melting pretty fast during the day. We ended up going east on Manastash Ridge to Clifty and back down to camp. Quite a bite of snow in places but the riding was great! Love this time of year. Only saw two groups of riders on the trail all day.

Trails are definately showing the effects of all those heavy rain events we have had in the last month or so....

We expect some (more) awesome pictures.  Bring some toe warmers, it's likely to be chilly.

My roomate and I will be camping somewhere around little naches saturday and sunday. Hopefully we can find a few trails that arent completely snowed over. He is slow and I am out of shape, and I am sure it will be cold, wet and sloppy, but I will take that any day over TV or yardwork. We are getting one more singletrack ride in before the end of the year if its the last thing I do.

Gifford was pretty nice, last weekend. Snow staying in the shade, now. One good cold dump, and it's back to Tahuya for swimming lessons.

Rode Taneum yesterday - great dirt and weather.

Tried to do Teanaway loop today, but too much snow to get up Jolly Mountain from Salmon La Sac. Teanaway loops might be done for the season . Unless it gets real warm!

Looks like you got up on Jolly Mountain. Did you make a loop with WF, MF or Yellow Fun trail....

We had a guy that was struggling greatly -so decided not to bust snow and get in a situation.....PM if you don't want to discuss details in the open....will go back if we can make a loop and not have a struggling rider.
