torq help

I am reinstalling cylinder studs.  The cylinder was sent out for redoing the bore.  The studs are reaching the torq limit (10 ft/lbs) before reaching bottom.   They are too high.   I tried cleaning out and driving them in and out a few times.  Any help would be great.

anti seize, and tighten till they bottom out.

Chase the threads clean with a Tap & Die set before installation, and then use Never Seize.

If you have to pick up a tap and die the thread sizes are written in the beginning of the service manual

worked great

Just a thought.

Be careful in running a tap through stud bore holes.

The bore may be a close fit thread type to hold the stud in place and prevent loosing from vibration.  If you are not sure ... don't do it until you have researched it and are confident you can do it.
