old aluminium framed ktm

Interesting pic, I'm glad they stuck with the steel frame. Any more info on it?

I wonder why they tried alu, steel works fine.

Looks expensive

From what i remember it was a one off. for a ktm rider that was a little short.

Think it was almost as expensive a new 125 back then.

Another thought is that sometimes lab testing can only go so far.  To really prove out something (good or bad) you need to build one and test it.  The perimeter frame does make it possible to have a shorter 4t chassis (more clearance for the head), not sure if there's any benefit for a 2t (maybe lower cg ...?).
