Maps

Where do you go to get maps of public land?

Go to your local BLM office. Each district will have them for where they are located.

Really?

The Bureau of Land Management

Try Google, you can find a lot of information on the interwebs.   Even BLM and other OHV maps.

Bureau of land management. I think that's how first word is spelled anyway. With govt shutdown I don't even know if they are open.

Forest Service, BLM, and USGS. USGS covers everything, Indian and private lands, etc. Less useable detail and labeling though.

Mike

So I looked, and because of the shutdown in gov., the websites down

Figured as much. When they do open, go into the BLM office personally and they should have free maps. At least the one I went in to did. Have to ask for the free ones

Also some green maps for cross referencing work pretty well.   You can get those at REI.  Just tell em you want them for dirt bike riding and watch them try to escort you out the door!

Well that makes sense. They must have a slew of government employees in hamster wheels keeping the web servers powered on.
