Reducing engine braking

Anyone know if an R cam reduces the engine braking of the X. I find my X has heaps of engine braking and is prone to flaming out at lower rpm over technical ground. I'm new to Honda and the X, I come from a Motocross Yamaha background. A Yz450 has heaps less engine braking and not prone to flaming out at all.

R cam may help,  Setting the idle up helps, as does being a gear higher.

You need to properly uncork and rejet first and foremost.

Then it will run free and cool and not flame out.

To get less engine braking, just shift up.
