For as long as I can remember I have been a 'tinkerer', all my spare time is spent in the workshop, either training or making stuff. TV doesn't really interest me, I don't socialise much and I hate sports. My wife says that I'm an antisocial &%$#@!er - fine by me! ? In my time I have been into choppers, streetfighters, rats, cafe racers, and had a go at building all sorts of machines, in fact I dont think I have ever ridden a 'stock' machine for long. I have also never owned a brand new anything, either bike or car, so when I got the CRF I promised her indoors I would leave it alone, the spanners would stay in the toolbox.....

A-hem.... so far, in 1500 miles it has had

HEL braided hoses

brake pads

rad guard

full yoshi pipe and can

EJK

speedo calibrator

13/42 sprockets

yoshi tail tidy

folding shift lever

magnetic drain plug

and sitting upstairs in a box is the 305 bigbore kit

Have the braided hoses made a worthwhile difference? Did you get front and rear?

Let's see the Hel brake lines. Which colour? and did you do the straight fitting thing? (on the front m/c?)

HEL lines are a worthwhile upgrade, I copied the original fittings as I don't mind the huge loop... in hindsight I could have gone maybe 150mm shorter and still kept the slack that is there for when forks are at full extension, better safe than sorry though. Wouldnt want to be out in a pit somewhere in the middle of nowhere and rip my front brake line off by catching a bit of air off a jump!

i was wondering, like 75-100mm shorter, would reduce the big loop, but i'm concerned it might end up blocking the view of the dashboard. i suppose when i'm ready to do it, and send the original lines to the HEL guy, i could pull it down that much at the bottom end and see.

I was thinking about replacing my brake lines/brakes when I install the 305, but I may wait.  I would like to shorten the brake line, but I haven't tried to measure for it yet.  I saw the pics on Ramsey's site that show the line below the cross bar on the stock bars so it shouldn't interfere with the instrument panel.  I don't know if I will go that short though.

The guy may have just done that for the video .... appears to me as tho he was trying to get it out of the way of the camera view

I slipped mine down a bit on the lower clamp and it mostly follow's the curve of the headlight shield--Mostly not completely--in other words it's just a little better--
